Every Wine tells a story
Our portfolio is carefully curated to appeal to a New Generation of Wine Drinkers
Unique Varietals
We specialize in providing customers with interesting and unique wines. Italians use more than 350 different grapes to make wine on a commercial scale. That’s around 10 times the number for France. According to the IWSR, millennial wine drinkers are more adventurous than their older counterparts with 73% saying they enjoy trying new or different styles of wine on a regular basis. Unfortunately, wine drinkers in the US are only familiar with a handful of Italian varietals. Instead of offering your customers another Chianti or Pinot Grigio, place a bottle of Groppello, Vespiolo, or Muristellu on the table and watch the conversation take off.
Lesser Known Regions
Great wines are produced in nearly every part of Italy with the Italian Ministry of Agriculture recognizing 118 IGT and 408 DOC & DOCG regions. We tend to look for producers in areas and subregions that are under the radar. For example, Parovel, our vineyard in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, is in the Carso DOC, our Umbrian producer makes award wining Sagrantino based wines in the Montefalco DOCG, and Atha Ruja in Sardinia makes wines under the Isola dei Nuraghi IGT. A recent article in Wine Enthusiast notes that Millenials and Gen Z are more likely to show interest in lesser known wine regions, and Amor Fati is well poised to meet this demand.
Diversity and Inclusion
Millennials and Gen Z wine drinkers tend to chose brands that align with their beliefs and positively impact society. As socially conscious generations, Millennials and Gen Z are drawn to producers with strong commitments to diversity, inclusion, gender equality and are willing to pay more for products that align with these values. Amor Fati represents numerous vineyards owned and operated by women who are making their mark in a traditionally male-dominated field.
Limited production
Much has been written about the drop in wine sales over the past decade. However, as the San Francisco Chronicle points out, one of the few categories that has done well is small production wines. In 2021, the category of small production wines grew at 21%, its highest rate since 2007, even though these wines often cost more than mass produced brands. Amor Fati only represents boutique wines. All of our wines are limited-addition and many of these varietals are not available anywhere else in Colorado. Generally, our winemakers produce less than 20,000 bottles of each wine they sell. Often, this number is less than 10,000 bottles. For a few of our more exclusive wines, less than 2,000 individually numbered bottles are produced. So, if you want to provide your customers with a truly unique wine experience, make Amor Fati your go-to distributor.
Sustainability
According to market research, sustainability is a key factor influencing wine purchases among Millennial and Gen Z consumers. Studies show that 90 percent of Millennials are willing to pay more for sustainable wine. At Amor Fati we carefully select winemakers who show concern and love for nature. On these small family farms, interventions like chemical pesticides and herbicides are seldom necessary. Many of our producers have obtained organic and natural certifications for their wines. All of them care deeply about the land and resources that contribute to the unique character of their products.
Connecting through Stories
Recent articles on the buying habits of Millennial and Gen Z consumers conclude that these generations value storytelling and want to connect with wine on a personal level. They want a story that helps them understand and relate to the product. At Amor Fati, we have a close connection with the wine makers we represent. As the owner of Amor Fati, I visit each of the vineyards, have dinner at the farm, drink wine with the families, and get to know their community. I am happy to share the fascinating family histories of our producers with your staff and share the passion they put into each vintage of their wines.
Love of Fate
Amor Fati is a feeling
A feeling of appreciation for all of the things that have happened to us…all of our experiences. The good and the bad, big and small. It is an understanding that all of our adventures have shaped us into who we are today. It’s a realization that we wouldn’t change a thing.
Our fate, our lives, and our decisions. The people we cherish and those who have faded from memory. Where we’ve lived and where we’ve travelled. Our struggles and our successes. These create our story.
Our producers, the farmers who tend the grapes, the vintners that oversee production, care deeply about their wines. They plan every aspect of the process. They worry about the weather. They obsess over the right day to start the harvest. They fret about choosing the best barrels, controlling the temperature, and creating the perfect conditions for fermentation. Together they produce some of the best wines in the world. This is their story. This is who they are. Their fate has brought them to this place.
